Khansama, UB City

BJN Group's new offering to add to thier already impressive list is " Khansama". Khansama follows " Royal Indian Theme". So you can be rest assured for a royal treatment from BJN.

Location
The restaurant is located on Concorde Block, UB City, Vittal Mallya Road. What better location you can ask for? I dont think so I need to give any landmarks as UB City itself is a good enough landmark for the City itself.

Parking
Not a problem at all. There is a MLCP ( Multi level Car Park) which charges Rs.30 for 2 hrs. But please avaoid the Valet parking. They charge Rs.100 for Valet parking. Pretty strange huh!!

Format
This place has both Ala Carte as well as Buffet( Not sure about the nite).
Rating - 3.5/5

Ambience
Ambience is very fine. Attention has been given to evry possible detail. The Wall paintings are
awwsome. The furnitures have been precisely designed. I cannot recall the music in the
background. Sorry for that. You can also find few stuffed animals ( May be artificial) which is an added attraction. If you just run your eyes around you can see how well Royal Theme has been executed. After all it is BJN, master of theme restaurants.

Food
The food is thrives on "Indian" cuisine. So you can expect lot of Tandoor and Mughlai dishes. I
went for a afternoon buffet here. So cannot comment much on Als Carte. Food is very decent.
They have also got a see through kitchen (The Girl in the pic was not intended) Like any typical Buffet they had 2 soups, few salads, 6 starters ( 3 veg,1 chicken, 1 fish and 1 lamb), Veg Biryani, 3 veg subzis, 1 dal, 1 chicken dish, plain rice and a bread basket. The Desert menu inclued Fruit Salad, Gulab Jamun, Cham Cham, Pastry, Vanilla and Strawbery Icecream and Chocolate sauce ( the chocalate sauce hardens on your icecream like a chocobar..yummy) The food is good but could have been better. But definitely the

ambience kind of covers up for the food.

Pricing
The buffet was priced at 275+ 10% SC+ 12.5% VAT which comes upto Rs.330 which is pretty decent. I got a chance to look at the ala carte menu and it was kind on the higher side. To give you an fair sense of idea Non veg platter was priced at Rs.750.
Rating - 3.5/5

Overall, the ambience and the location of this restaurant is top class. The food can be made better infact a few more non veg dishes can be added to the spread. The Buffet would still be the best bet. The reservation is very important here as it is usually full in the afternoons.
Overall Rating - 3.5/5
